Ways To Handle Your Heartbreak Vol. 2

This is basically a part two of Ways To Handle Your Heartbreak from my on-going survey-like post wherein I will ask people on what's their advice for those who are suffering from heartbreak and/or depression. Below is an answer that I got from an individual; I just translated it from Tagalog to English. (I will upload the rest of the list of short advices in a different post soon.)

1. Cry - let it all out. Avoid blaming other people and getting mad (for a long time). There's no harm in crying, we're humans and it's natural that we experience pain once in a while.

IIYAK MO NA LAHAT! ung isang bagsakan! buhos! HAGULGOL! para gumaang.. iwasan ang manisi.. iwasan ang magalit.. ok lamang ang lumuha.. ok lamang ang masaktan.. tao tayo e.. ganern talaga.. pero pag naiiyak mo na ang lahat.. ano ang next?

2. Acceptance - you can never change the past. Whatever the reason of your breakup, may it be "third party", "no spark at all", "your partner doesn't love you anymore", "your partner needs space", "you deserve better", "I need to find myself" etc. — you have to accept it.

ACCEPT IT. ehh wala namang magbabago kung magpapakalugmok ka sa pagkadurog nang puso mo.. kahit papaano ka pa nasaktan.. "third party" "walang spark" "hindi ka na mahal" "need space" "you deserve better" "i need to find my self" haha kahit ano pa yan.. you have to accept it.. that's your reality right now.. and nothing can ever change that.. kahit lumuhod ka or what ever.. hahaha.. it is what it is!

3. Get a grip - getting your heart broken doesn't mean your life has no sense or direction at all. Get a grip and pull yourself together. Save enough respect and love for yourself.

GET A GRIP. ang mahirap kasi pag nabbroken heart.. feeling mo wala nang saysay ang buhay mo.. wala ng direksyon.. get a grip man! pull your self together.. dapat nagtitira ng para sa sarili.. para hindi wasak na wasak.. hahaha ayos ba?

4. Life goes on - "it doesn't matter if you have to crawl or walk. Whatever it takes, we just have to keep moving." The world is not going to wait for you, so it's better if you'd keep your head up high and move forward than to stay sad and lonely just because you get your heart broken.

LIFE GOES ON KAYA MOVE ON. sabi nga.. "it doesn't matter if you have to crawl, or walk. what ever it takes.. just keep on moving" hehe.. kung feeling mo eh after ng breakup ehh huminto na ang pagikot ng mundo.. tama ka.. FEELING MO LAMANG UN! hahaha.. hindi titigil ang mundo para sa iyo.. kaya mapagiiwanan ka kung tutulala ka nalamang kasi "NASAKTAN" ka.. hehe.. sorry.. pero.. ganun talaga e..

5. Forgive not only the ones who have hurted you but also yourself. Its never wrong to love, maybe its just the wrong person or wrong time.

FORGIVE.. hindi lamang ung kabilang party.. kundi pati ang sarili mo.. kasi magiisip ka nyan.. "bakit ko pa sya minahal?" mga ganun.. hindi cool yun.. hehe... minahal mo sya e.. walang mali dun.. wrong person at the wrong time siguro.. pero kahit kailan.. hindi mali ang magmahal.. hehehe ayos ba?

6. Improve yourself - your character, attitude, perspective, etc. There are a lot of ways to improve ourselves, reserve some time in making yourself better. Remember that to change and to improve are two different things, don't confuse the two.

IMPROVE YOURSELF. character, attitude, perspective. ayan.. jan kasi tayo madalas nagkakaroon ng clashes.. and take note.. IMPROVE, hindi CHANGE.. hahaha magkaiba yon ganern! anyways.. madaming ways to improve our self.. pagyamanin ang sarili.. wala namang mawawala kung bibigyan natin ng oras ang pagpapalago ng ating mga buhay.. hahaha..

7. Be productive - don't let your pain hinder the beautiful things in front of you. Spend time with your friends and/or family, get a new hobby, get yourself busy.

lastly.. do something PRODUCTIVE... kasi usually.. pag heartbroken.. kain kain tulog tulog iyak iyak.. hahaha.. ang dapat.. magenjoy.. kontakin ang mga barkada.. lumabas labas ng lungga ganern!

I know it's not easy to follow these advices but I've tried it and fortunately it worked for me.

alam ko madaling sabihin.. mahirap gawin.. pero.. i know and i've been there.. and i've tried it.. proven na yan haha kaya wag kayong ano.. HAHAHA

Realizations After Reading The Story Of The Giving Tree

Once upon a time, there lived a big tree. A little boy loved to come and play around it everyday. He climbed to the tree top, ate the fruits, took a nap under the shadow… He loved the tree and the tree loved to play with him. Time went by, the little boy grew, and he no longer played around the tree.

One day, the boy came back to the tree with a sad look on his face. “Come and play with me,” the tree asked the boy. “I am no longer a kid, I don’t play around trees anymore.” The boy replied, “I want toys. I need money to buy them.” “Sorry, I don’t have money… but you can pick all my fruits and sell them so you will have money.” The boy was so excited. He picked all the fruits on the tree and left happily. The boy didn’t come back. The tree was sad.

One day, the boy grown into a man returned. The tree was so excited. “Come and play with me,” the tree said. “I don’t have time to play. I have to work for my family. We need a house for shelter. Can you help me?” “Sorry, I don’t have a house, but you can chop off my branches to build your house.” So the man cut all the branches off the tree and left happily. The tree was glad to see him happy but the boy didn’t come back afterward. The tree was again lonely and sad.

One hot summer day, the man returned and the tree was delighted. “Come and play with me!” The tree said. “I am sad and getting old. I want to go sailing to relax myself. Can you give me a boat?” “Use my trunk to build your boat. You can sail far away and be happy.” So the man cut the tree trunk to make a boat. He went sailing and didn’t come back for a long time.

Finally, the man returned after he had been gone for so many years. “Sorry, my boy, but I don’t have anything for you anymore. No more fruits to give you.” the tree said. “I don’t have teeth to bite,” the man replied. “No more trunk for you to climb on.” “I am too old for that now,” the man said.

“I really can’t give you anything, the only thing left is my dying roots,” the tree said with sadness. “I don’t need much now, just a place to rest. I am tired after all these years,” the man replied. “Good! Old tree roots are the best place to lean on and rest. Come sit down with me and rest.” The boy sat down and the tree was glad and smiled.

Moral: The tree in the story represents our parents. When we are young, we love to play with them. When we grow up, we leave them and only come back when we need help. Parents sacrifice their lives for us. Never forget their sacrifices. Give them love and care before its too late.

We don't often realize the disappointments we give them. We go on the opposite direction and leave them behind with uncertainty. We make decisions even if we know that what we are going to do or what we're doing will hurt them badly. Sometimes, we are selfish just to satisfy our own plans. But at the end of the day, when the problem or bad situation comes up, we go back to them hurriedly.

Family are the ones we can lean on in any circumstances. Let's not take advantage of it. I've also realized that parents really know what's best for us. If only I could turn back time, I would follow all of their advices — from “study hard”, I only studied hard when I was in 5th grade and 4th year high school. Blessed enough to land 2nd honors and that's one of my biggest achievement that I dedicated to them. Next one is “be diligent”, “be mindful”, “be sensitive” etc. We're humans, we are and will always be flawed but that's not an excuse to make unwise choices and decisions. That's the reason why we have our parents / guardians, to guide us along the way. By considering their feelings, we would definitely make more wise and healthy decisions for our lives.

No parent would advice their children to be on the wrong path, to be vengeful when in pain, to be insecure about other people's achievements, to be always dependent, to be hateful when things go wrong, etc. Rather, parents would advice us to be wise in making decisions, to be happy for other people's achievements, to learn to be independent, to be forgiving, to know our standards, to respect ourselves and others, and the list goes on. Let's always trust our parents especially in crucial moments. They've given us many things and sacrificed their lives, let's put some effort to make them proud and not to make them dismayed.

8 Life Reminders That Will Make You Rethink Your Priorities

As time passes by, our priorities are changing — some gradually, some drastically. And since I'll be turning 30 few years from now, reevaluating my priorities in life is a must. Take a moment to pause and remember who you truly are. Take the time to reflect on the things that have real and lasting meaning in your life. Besides, rethinking and/or reworking our priorities would never harm us.

1. Do little things with great love. The quality of your life in the long run directly depends upon how you set and respect your priorities today. By saying no to more things that sound slightly “exciting,” you get to say yes to more of what’s truly important.

2. Every moment gives you a new beginning and a new ending. Sometimes life will not go as you planned. When this happens, breathe and remember that life’s richness often comes from its unpredictability. Be thankful to start from where you are now. Wishing for a different past will only waste your present.

3. Be your hero, not your victim. As long as you think that the cause of your problem is “out there” somewhere else — as long as you think that someone or something else is responsible for your aches and pains — your situation is hopeless. It means that you are forever in the victim role — that you’re suffering even in paradise.

4. We are often our own worst enemies and the biggest challenges we face are our own negative thoughts and habits, and our refusal to admit what’s not working well. Recognizing what’s NOT working in your life can be painful, yet it’s the key to shaping the life you want. By eliminating what’s not working, you give yourself the space to refocus your attention on what IS working, and exploit it to the best of your ability.

5. The mind is your battleground. It’s the place where the greatest conflict resides. It’s where half of the things you thought were going to happen, never did happen. But if you allow these thoughts to dwell in your mind, they will succeed in robbing you of peace, joy, and ultimately your life. You are what you think and you can’t change anything if you can’t change your thinking. A beautiful day, and thus a beautiful life, always begins with a beautiful mindset.

6. Frustration and stress come from the way you respond, not the way life is. Adjust your attitude, and the frustration and stress is gone. Even if you have a good reason to be angry and resentful, don’t. Channel your energy into thoughts and actions that actually benefit your life.

7. Being positive doesn’t mean ignoring the negative. Being positive means overcoming the negative. There’s a big difference between the two. Regardless of what happens, the situation does not determine your response – YOU determine your response. And it never pays to get discouraged. Taking the next step and making positivity a way of life will help you restore your faith in yourself. Work through the challenges so you can gradually turn them into opportunities and blessings.

8. You can’t lift 1,000 pounds all at once, but you can easily lift one pound 1,000 times. In repetition, your little actions have great power. You become highly skilled at whatever you do again and again. Remember the last six letters in the word “attraction” are “action.” If you want to attract positive changes into your life, you can’t only work on your internal world (your knowledge) – you must also take action (do something with your knowledge).

No one is free of flaws and quirks. Good character consists of defining your values and integrity based on time-tested principles and self-reflection, and having the courage to live your life accordingly. Below are 10 personality/character traits that attract the right people and circumstances into one's life:

1. Integrity

Integrity is having strong moral principles and core values and then conducting your life with those as your guide. When you have integrity, you main your adherence to it whether or not other people are watching.

2. Respectfulness

You treat yourself and others with courtesy, kindness, deference, dignity, and civility. You offer basic respect as a sign of your value for the worth of all people and your ability to accept the inherent flaws we all possess.

3. Humility

You have a confident yet modest opinion of your own self-importance. You don’t see yourself as “too good” for other people or situations. You have a learning and growth mindset and the desire to express and experience gratitude for what you have, rather than expecting you deserve more.

4. Compassion

You feel deep sympathy and pity for the suffering and misfortune of others, and you have a desire to do something to alleviate their suffering.

5. Forgiveness
You make conscious, intentional decisions to let go of resentment and anger toward someone for an offense — whether or not forgiveness is sought by the offender. Forgiveness may or may not include pardoning, restoration, or reconciliation. It extends both to others and to one’s self.

6. Authenticity
You are able to be your real and true self, without pretension, posturing, or insincerity. You are capable of showing appropriate vulnerability and self-awareness. Also requires honesty.

7. Generosity
You are willing to offer your time, energy, efforts, emotions, words, or assets without the expectation of something in return. You offer these freely and often joyously.

8. Kindness
Kindness is an attitude of being considerate, helpful, and benevolent to others. It is motivated by a positive disposition and the desire for warm and pleasant interactions. Being knowledgable of basic good manners is also needed to enhance your relationshops and self-esteem.

9. Reliability
You can be consistently depended upon to follow through on your commitments, actions, and decisions. You do what you say you will do.

10. Self-discipline
You are able, through good habits or willpower, to overcome your desires or feelings in order to follow the best course of action or to rise to your commitments or principles. You have a strong sense of self-control in order to reach a desired goal.

Developing these traits of good character can be difficult to foster and maintain, but they afford so many positive benefits to improve the quality of our lives. Let's never stop achieving these traits. Stay gorgeous!
